Round robin means every participant plays every other participant. A 7-team round robin has 21 total matchups. If the participant count is odd, one team sits out each round. That bye is normal, not an error.

A 7-team round robin has 21 games. Each team plays 6 games, one against every other team, and each team has one bye because the field has an odd number of teams.
The schedule needs 7 rounds. Each round has 3 games and 1 bye. If you have three courts, one full round can run at the same time. If you have one court, the 21 games must run one after another, so match length matters.
How long does a 7-team round robin take?
Start with the number of courts. With three courts, each round can run as one time block, so the event needs 7 match blocks plus warmup, breaks, and any final review time. With one court, you need 21 match blocks because each game runs in sequence.
For example, 20-minute matches on one court need at least 420 minutes before breaks. The same event on three courts needs at least 140 minutes before breaks. Add buffer time if players need to move between fields, report scores, or warm up after a bye.

How do byes work with 7 teams?
One team rests in each round. That bye should rotate so no team gets two rest rounds and no team plays every round. If the bye order feels unfair for your venue, regenerate or change the entered order before publishing the final schedule.
